History

In 1936, the prestigious franc/belge “Compagnie Intle. des Wagons Lits et du Tourisme”, decided to open a branch in Lima, Perú to serve a range of leisure travel including “Forfait travel”.

A great leader and specialized in luxury travel, the Lima branch adapted to serve a larger market of travelers with group travel characteristics and serving tourists from abroad wishing to know and learn more about our country and its cultural legacy. During this years, the alliance with Thomas Cook was very strong and even the name of the branch is known as Wagons Lits Cook.

In 1979, our branch is transformed to a Filial Ander the name of Wagons Lits Turismo del Peru, S.A.

Meanwhile, in Europe, the “Compagnie Intle des Wagons Lits et du Tourisme”, ended its alliance with Thomas Cook and initiated a new stage in its corporate life when it is adquired by the French Hotel Group ACCOR.    Inmediately after, ACCOR started a strategic alliance with the American Group CARLSON.

It is in 1997 and  through a global partnership; CARLSON and ACCOR joined its network creating the world largest travel agency´s network ; specialized in corporate travel management and under the name of: CARLSON WAGONLIT TRAVEL.

Our Peruvian branch, immediately got focused in these changes to specialized itself in corporate travel,  to help and support companies in Perú in the administration and optimization of their Travel Program.

In 2006, One Equity Partners (OEP), a private branch of JPMorgan Chase & Co., based in New York, adquired the shares of ACCOR.
